NCCU Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony Honors Excellence and Inspires Future Business Leaders

NCCU Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony Honors Excellence and Inspires Future Business Leaders

On December 27, 2024, the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) NCCU Chapter hosted its 2024 Induction Ceremony at the I-Yu Hall on the sixth floor of the College of Commerce at National Chengchi University (NCCU). The event marked a significant milestone for the inductees, celebrating their academic excellence and commitment to the highest standards of business education.

The ceremony commenced with a warm reception, setting the stage for an inspiring afternoon. The Associate Dean of the College of Commerce, Yenn-Ru Chen, delivered an engaging introduction to Beta Gamma Sigma and its NCCU Chapter. Highlighting the society’s pillars of honor, wisdom, and earnestness, she emphasized that BGS membership represents the pinnacle of academic achievement for business students enrolled in AACSB-accredited programs.

The Associate Dean elaborated on the exclusive nature of BGS, noting that membership is offered by invitation only and is extended to the top 10% of undergraduates and the top 20% of graduate and doctoral candidates. She proudly shared that the NCCU Chapter, which was established in 2008, has since welcomed over 558 distinguished members. “Being part of BGS not only recognizes your hard work but also connects you to a global network of leaders who share valuable insights for your career development,” she stated.

Following this educational introduction, the event transitioned to its most anticipated moment, the conferring of certificates presided over by the Dean of the College of Commerce, Jia-Chi Huang. Twenty-six outstanding individuals from undergraduate, graduate, and PhD were called to the stage, one by one, to receive their certificates. The atmosphere was filled with pride and accomplishment as each name was announced, marking their formal induction into this prestigious international society.

Dean Huang guided the new members through the BGS induction oath, reaffirming their dedication to the society's core values. Following the oath, he delivered an inspiring address, encouraging the inductees to uphold the principles of honor and responsibility in all their pursuits. “If you are capable of helping others, do so,” he advised, emphasizing the importance of social responsibility and adherence to environmental, social, and governance principles. The Dean’s message inspired the members to strive not only for personal success but also for positive societal contribution.

The new BGS members themselves offered inspiring glimpses into their motivations and aspirations. I-Hsuan Chiang, an undergraduate in Management Information Systems, sees her BGS membership as a crucial stepping stone towards her goal of studying abroad. Guan Ting Wu, an undergraduate specializing in Risk Management and Insurance, expressed her pride in joining BGS and offered simple yet powerful advice to her peers: “Stay focused and committed to your studies”. Chung Hsuan Kuo, a second-year IMBA student, highlighted the value of networking opportunities while also emphasizing the paramount importance of continuous learning. Wai-Keong Lim, a second-year MBA student, viewed his induction as an affirmation of his passion for learning and his commitment to excellence.

The ceremony concluded with a group photograph to commemorate this exceptional achievement. The smiles and expressions of pride reflected the immense effort and unwavering dedication that had brought the members to this moment. Congratulations to the new members on this remarkable achievement and may their journey with Beta Gamma Sigma unlock new doors and opportunities for success.
